Enrique has citizenship in Spain, the United States and the Philippines. He has achieved incredible success, surpassing his relatives in popularity and financial well-being. He borrowed money from his nanny to record a demo tape with two songs in English and one in Spanish. At the beginning of his career, he performed under the pseudonym Enrique Martinez, indicating on the cover that he was from Guatemala.
