Riyadh to host Six Kings Slam tennis tournament

The Six Kings Slam tournament, as part of the Riyadh Season festival, held in Riyadh, will feature world tennis stars Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner and Holger Rune in a prestigious tournament. The legends will meet on the courts of one of the world's best arenas, the Kingdom Arena. The competition will take place over three days - October 16, 17 and 19, including a day off on the 18th, since, according to ATP standards, no exhibition event can host this sport for three consecutive days.

The long-awaited tournament will be in line with Saudi Arabia's efforts to attract major international sporting events. The country has already achieved this feat in sports such as football, Formula One and golf, and is looking to make its first major push in this direction by announcing lucrative prizes for the winners. The tournament, called the Six Kings Slam, will feature a stellar lineup of the best players in the current men’s singles category. The event is sure to attract spectators from around the world, which will only help Saudi Arabia in its quest to further popularize tennis.

The Six Kings Slam will feature a prize pool of over $13 million. The winner will take home $6 million, a whopping sum! Each player will also receive $1.5 billion just for participating in the tournament, even if they don’t win. It should be noted, however, that there will be no female players in the event. In recent years, some players have criticized and rejected Saudi Arabia’s tennis interests, including legends Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert. Both players rejected Saudi Arabia as the host of the WTA Finals, considering it incompatible with the spirit and goals of women's tennis and the WTA itself.

The tournament was previously planned to be held earlier, but one of the top participants, Rafael Nadal, suffered an injury from which he did not recover until October.

The tournament promises to showcase the skill, talent and sheer determination of these tennis superstars battling it out on the court. Fans can expect thrilling matches and unforgettable moments as the world’s best tennis players come together to battle it out at this elite tournament.

Meanwhile, earlier this weekend, the tournament chiefs released an epic five-minute promotional video for the Six Kings Slam, directed by Los Perez and featuring scenes that would rival a Hollywood blockbuster.

The tennis exhibition will take place later this year and will feature six of the sport’s biggest names, including Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. The exhibition will be held as part of the season in Riyadh and will not count towards ranking points or the ATP Men’s Tour.
