David Farrell in the Middle East

David Michael Farrell, better known as Phoenix, is a talented bass guitarist who gained worldwide fame thanks to his work in the iconic American rock band Linkin Park. Born on February 8, 1977 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, David was surrounded by music since childhood. His mother was the first mentor who instilled in him a love of guitar, and his older brother Joe had a significant influence on his musical development.

Farrell began his career in the pop-punk band Tasty Snax, where he first tried himself as a bass guitarist. He later joined the band Xero, which eventually transformed into Hybrid Theory and, finally, Linkin Park. As part of this band, David made an invaluable contribution to the creation of such legendary albums as Hybrid Theory.

David is also known for his multifaceted musical talent: he can play various instruments, including the violin. However, his favorite instruments are the Ernie Ball Sting Ray 4- and 5-string bass guitars and SWR Amplifiers. Farrell received his higher education at the University of California, Los Angeles, where his roommate Brad Delson became his friend and bandmate.
