Conor Anthony McGregor (Irish: Conchúr Antóin Mac Gréagóir; born 14 July 1988 in Dublin, Ireland) is a famous Irish mixed martial artist and professional boxer. He is a member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and competes in the lightweight division. He also boasts the fact that he previously held the lightweight and featherweight titles in the UFC. Born in the south of Dublin, in the Crumlin area, Conor McGregor showed an interest in sports, in particular football. He played for Luders Celtic and supported English club Manchester United in the English Premier League. In 2006, his family moved to Lucan, where he attended Colaiste Cois Life High School. After school, he began an apprenticeship as a plumber. During this period, he became interested in wrestling and began training with future UFC fighter Tom Egan. This sparked his interest in mixed martial arts. In 2008, he joined the SBG team. Conor McGregor began his professional MMA career in the lightweight division. He managed to achieve great success, collecting ten wins and only two losses. He then changed weight classes and competed in the featherweight division, where he fought for the title of champion in the organization "Cage Warriors". Returning to lightweight, he defeated Ivan Buchinger and became a champion in two weight classes at the same time.
