Khamzat Chimayev

Khamzat Chimaev is a mixed martial arts fighter representing Chechnya and Sweden. He actively participates in competitions under the UFC banner in the middle and welterweight categories. Currently, as of October 14, 2022, he ranks third in the official UFC rankings in the welterweight weight category.

Khamzat Chimaev’s path to MMA began with amateur fights. In 2017, he won three fights, and in 2018 he moved to the professional ranks. He won his initial two victories in the FCR and IRFA organizations. Khamzat later signed a contract with the Brave CF promotion. His successes are great: six victories in a row attracted the attention of the UFC, and he received an invitation to this organization.

Khamzat Chimaev made his UFC debut on July 15, 2020 at the UFC on ESPN 13 tournament, where he met John Phillips. This fight ended with Chimaev winning via submission. Just ten days later, he fought his next fight at UFC on ESPN 14 against Reece McKee and defeated his opponent by knockout.

September 19, 2020, at the UFC Fight Night: Covington vs. Woodley event, Khamzat Chimaev fought his third fight in the UFC and scored a knockout victory over Gerald Meerschaert.
