Khamzat Chimayev

Khamzat Chimayev, is a mixed martial arts fighter representing Chechnya and Sweden. He actively participates in competitions under the banner of the UFC in the middleweight and welterweight categories. At the moment, on the date of October 14, 2022, he occupies the third place in the official UFC rating in the welterweight weight category.

Khamzat Chimayev's path to MMA began with fights for amateurs. In 2017, he won three fights, and in 2018 he moved to the professional ranks. He won the initial two victories in the FCR and IRFA organizations. Hamzat later signed a contract with the Brave CF promotion. His successes are great: six consecutive victories attracted the attention of the UFC, and he received an invitation to this organization.

Khamzat Chimayev made his UFC debut on July 15, 2020 at the UFC on ESPN 13 tournament, where he met John Phillips. This duel ended with the victory of Chimaev with the use of a submissive. Just ten days later, he had his next fight at the UFC on ESPN 14 tournament against Rhys McKee and defeated his opponent by knockout.

On September 19, 2020, at the UFC Fight Night: Covington vs. Woodley event, Khamzat Chimayev fought his third fight in the UFC and won by knockout over Gerald Merschart.
