The real name of Jony is Jahid Afrail oglu Huseynli. The future singer was born in Azerbaijan, in Baku. He graduated from the Faculty of International Business at the State University of Management in Moscow.
After his studies, he was waiting for a job in his father's company, but he did not want to do business, but was still drawn to creativity. Jahid asked his father to give him a chance to become an artist and he agreed. Even while studying, he recorded covers of various popular songs and posted them on social networks. Soon he was noticed by Elman Zeynalov (El'man) and invited to his collective RAAVA Music.
The pseudonym Jony appeared in Jahid since childhood. That's what his parents, classmates and friends called him. All because he really liked the cartoon “Johnny Bravo". Mom started calling her son Johnny or Joe as a joke, and the boy himself introduced himself like that at school when his peers could not remember his real name. He's been Jony ever since.
Jony's first songs were: “Empty Glass”, “Friendzone”, “Star”, “Alley” and “Without You I'm Not Me”. The latter was recorded together with HammAli & Navai. Popularity came after the song “Alley”, the clip for which has gained more than 100 million views on YouTube. In September 2019 , the main hit Jony was released “Comet”. It stayed at number one on the Apple Music chart for a long time and collected tens of millions of views on YouTube.
