Description
Leonid Agutin is one of the most vibrant and multifaceted artists on the Russian stage, whose work has remained in demand among a wide audience for several decades. He was born on July 16, 1968, in Moscow and was immersed in music from an early age. His father, Nikolai Agutin, worked with the country's leading vocal and instrumental ensembles, and Leonid himself studied music from childhood, graduating from a jazz school majoring in piano and later from the Moscow State Institute of Culture, specializing in directing theater and mass performances.
Agutin gained widespread fame in the early 1990s after participating in musical television projects and winning the prestigious Yalta-1992 and Jurmala-1993 competitions. His breakthrough album, "Barefoot Boy" (1994), earned him the titles of "Singer of the Year," "Album of the Year," and "Song of the Year." His music was distinguished by an original style, combining pop, Latin rhythms, jazz, and original lyrics.
In subsequent years, Leonid Agutin cemented his status as one of the leaders of the national music scene, releasing a number of successful albums and playing to sold-out concerts at the country's largest venues. A special place in his career is occupied by an international project with the legendary jazz guitarist Al Di Meola—the album Cosmopolitan Life, which received recognition abroad and was presented on prestigious world stages.
Agutin is also widely known as a mentor on the television project "The Voice," where he trained a whole galaxy of outstanding performers. In 2008, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Today, Leonid Agutin continues to actively perform, write music, and delight audiences with live concerts.
